Mardan Fabrication aluminum shelters such as transit shelters are a popular item because they are extremely light in weight and do not rust or deteriorate under harsh weather conditions. When purchasing the transit shelter, all you’ll need onsite is a standard forklift to offload and set the shelter. Use the forklift to get underneath the mounting skid in order to offload it from the truck. Once it’s offloaded from the truck, forklift the shelter to the final installation location and place it on the concrete pad. Making sure that everything on the site is correct, go ahead and lift up the shelter and remove the mounting skid so you can lower the shelter directly on the concrete slab. The shelter will need to be level so shimming may be necessary. Once its level, go ahead and anchor the shelter into the slab. The size of the concrete slab and anchor size should be determined by a local engineer who is familiar with the local code requirements.

A lot of parking lots across the country are going to walkup pay-stations versus having a manned parking attendant. Whether you are in an area that rains a lot or an area that snows, providing shelter for the customer paying for the parking is extremely important. The aluminum shelter is perfect for this because it is very small and can fit in small locations. Plus, they do not rust or deteriorate should the pay-station be located in a coastal area or in a highly volatile weather condition. The shelters can be manufactured with numerous different options which allow them to be customized to each desired location. The aluminum pay-station shelter could be wired with electric so if a light is needed for nighttime use, it can be achieved.
Aluminum shelters are very light in weight and are easily moveable. They can be used for pay-stations, smoke shelters, and transit shelters to name a few applications. The reason I would pick an aluminum shelter over a steel shelter is because the aluminum doesn’t rust or deteriorate in highly volatile conditions. Coastal areas that have parking lots with walkup pay-stations that require the shelter would be a perfect application for the aluminum whereas steel would eventually rust. The aluminum shelters are manufactured out of prefinished white aluminum construction. If the shelter is painted and the painted is scratched, it will not rust and all you would need to do is apply touch-up paint in that particular area. You wouldn’t have to grind it or sand it in order to prep the area to repaint the shelter. Our aluminum shelters can also be engineered to meet local building codes.
